Inverter AC vs Normal AC: Which is better?

inverter vs non inverter AC

Proper Air conditioning is one of those need without which human being will find very difficult to survive, especially considering the high temperature of tropical Asian countries like India, Sri-lanka, etc during the summer season. The average usage of AC has been 8 to 10 months approximately in households. Considering the above facts it is clearly very integral part and need of us now days.

It gives the best comfort of cooling in hot summer days to the person present in the air-conditioned environment. Although many of us are not aware about the it also does the dehumidification of air along with the cooling the surrounding, by this way it removes unwanted heat produced by all the electronic goods present in the room.

AC basically works on refrigeration principle or in other words it captures the hot and humid air present in room and cools in down with the help of cooling gas and then it again recirculate the cool air to us, and the cooling gas which got heated now is cooled down by compressor. It basically simple Gas law according to which if you decrease the volume or compress it with compressor its temperature decreases.

1. What is Inverter technology?

The most common myth about inverter technology is people usually think of home inverter. While that inverter has nothing to do with AC. AC basically have inverter technology in it but it works for different purpose here. Inverter technology is advance technology which can control speed of compress motor and hence can control the cooling of AC too. Once the room is cooled to required temperature inverter slowdowns the motor speed and hence the cooling capacity too.

It actually modifies the tonnage as per the cooling required in the room. Which better compare normal AC which continuously runs over the night for the same cooling level.  Which lead to save lot of electricity as it reduces the tonnage the power consumption also falls noticeably & it can also be seen in the table below

working of Inverter AC vs non inverter AC

To have better understanding of how Inverter compressor works we will compare it with driving car. So basically if you having normal non-inverter ac means having car without any accelerator in which car can run either at max speed or will stop to direct zero.

However, in Inverter Compressor AC we have accelerator to control our cooling speed and load. For example it adjust the cooling capacity from 1.5 ton to 1 ton based on rooms cooling requirement, number of person present in the room

To Summarize

Here is the list of advantages of inverter AC over non-inverter AC.

  • Savings on Power
  • Less Noise
  • Dual Role of heating and cooling
  • Constant temperature maintained
  • Can run on solar panels
  • Does not harm environment
  • Clean Air
  • Stabilizer free working

However, all the inverter air conditioners may not have all the above features. Some features are brand and model specific. So before you finalize an inverter air conditioner, make sure the features which are important for you are present in that particular brand and model.
